In Milan, behind forgotten corners there are irregular cobble-stones streets, with medieval names: this is the Brera district! Brera is considered the artistic centre of the city in which rises the Academy of Fine Arts where I studied. There are graceful residences, elegant restaurants, art galleries, artists and fortune-tellers, narrow romantic streets and an ancient botanical garden. We will visit the Palace of Brera and its striking baroque courtyard with the imposing staircase which leads to the Brera Art Gallery.
